Welcome to MHR's Blog

We're taking the plunge into the new year and starting a blog. We hope you'll enjoy seeing frequent updates and photos on the horses you all know and so generously support. We'll also keep you posted on current projects and plans for the future.

NEW CAM LOCATION!!!

We are now using justin.tv for the cam. They have a chat room that allows multiple moderators so we can have much better control of what goes on.

The whole purpose of this new cam is to hopefully generate more interest from other people through the world wide web, and to educate individuals regarding PMUs and anti-slaughter. However we did not have the ability to stop the varmints from coming in and being rude/nasty at the old location. We could only ban and of course they could infiltrate under a different name. Unbelievable, try to do good and others turn it bad.

However, this seems to work very well, so if you want to participate in chat, please join us there at the new location. Otherwise, just enjoy the chat-free camera here.

Thank You

Stephanie

Ways you can help

If you are interested in purchasing Mary Kay Products, please visit my website

www.MaryKay.com/spierce1143

I have been inspired by my daughter Nikki who also is a Mary Kay Consultant, but her primary mission in life is serving our country in the US Navy. Thank you very much in advance for your support. I hope you will pass this on to family and friends. The funds I earn from the sale of these products will go toward the needs of all our horses.

July Event - Welcome to Café MHR

By popular demand - Nerdy Ned will be opening a summer cafe on the veranda at MHR!!!! He will have delicious chilled summer equine salads available to purchase for the horses. In addition, two new desserts will be available at the Cafe': nutritious Banana Horse Kisses and low sugar Enchanted Blossom Cookies. All proceeds will directly benefit the horses at MHR. Please see the MHR Hay page for details.

Thank you!

Nellie - Wednesday afternoon

Update:

Nellie DID NOT receive a tranquilizer this time.

The vet did a rectal and there is a mass that he could not push over. He oiled her and gave her metamucil. We are now to watch and hope that whatever is there comes out.

The vet stated this potentially could be a stone; this is worst case. If it is a stone, she will not pass it and surgery is an option. However, he stated we are looking at in excess of 8-10K.

We also do not know how far along the foal is for sure. All we can do at this point is pray and hope it is not a stone. I wish I had better news and hope that nature takes its course for the GOOD.
