NEW CAM LOCATION!!!
We are now using justin.tv for the cam. They have a chat room that allows multiple moderators so we can have much better control of what goes on.
The whole purpose of this new cam is to hopefully generate more interest from other people through the world wide web, and to educate individuals regarding PMUs and anti-slaughter. However we did not have the ability to stop the varmints from coming in and being rude/nasty at the old location. We could only ban and of course they could infiltrate under a different name. Unbelievable, try to do good and others turn it bad.
However, this seems to work very well, so if you want to participate in chat, please join us there at the new location. Otherwise, just enjoy the chat-free camera here.
Thank You
Stephanie
If you are interested in purchasing Mary Kay Products, please visit my website
I have been inspired by my daughter Nikki who also is a Mary Kay Consultant, but her primary mission in life is serving our country in the US Navy. Thank you very much in advance for your support. I hope you will pass this on to family and friends. The funds I earn from the sale of these products will go toward the needs of all our horses.
July Event - Welcome to Café MHR

In addition, two new desserts will be available at the Cafe': nutritious Banana Horse Kisses and low sugar Enchanted Blossom Cookies. All proceeds will directly benefit the horses at MHR. Please see the MHR Hay page for details.
FoBs:Posted by: jonnagrey at July 10, 2008 2:20 PMI am saddened to tell you that donations to MHR in Pahrump, (JUST LOVE THAT NAME) Nevada are at an all time low!
GUYS! PLEASE send whatever you can: this is one of the most hardworking-est, well-organized, wonderful rescues in the country. I personally think that they could be used as a model of HOW TO DO IT. Stephanie and Rob and the whole group work SO HARD at doing it right.
But that costs MONEY.
Think of the strain the PMU mares have put on the farm: They are BIG MOMS, BIG BABIES. They need lots to eat. I am so thrilled that they are there. I learned waaay too much about the evils of PMU farms. But I learned.
And I am always saddened to bring this up, but remember that in the beginning, there were three BBGs. MHR lost their beloved mare, Nellie, and her foal to a heinous condition created by--just one of the reasons--the fact that PMU mares are NEVER GIVEN ENOUGH WATER to keep their urine nice and concentrated. GRRRRRRRRRRR
I would hazard a guess that THAT vet bill to try to save Nellie and the loss of her foal took a huge bite out of any war chest that MHR had for emergencies.
You know how Joan and me and Barb always urge yole to pick a rescue and LOVE IT!!! MHR NEEDS US. Horses in need of rescue NEED THEM!!
If not MHR, pick any rescue situation and send whatever you can. In this terrible summer of drought and fire and heat, please, please help our rescues!!!
(PS MHR is having a lovely array of donation options among which you may choose...I love these guys.I wish I could send more...but every little bit helps. )
XXOO to all the RESCUERS out there. I have to laugh--ruefully at that--at queries made as to who will be at the Barbaro Celebration this weekend. Not many RESCUE folk, I'll tell you. Last year, I took my first 10 days off from my Greyhound Rescue in 20+ years....not complaining: but this is what our lives are. These guys never get a break. It is their life...and for the most part, I am sure they would say that they love their lives.
And in honor of their work--ongoing constantly--please sends something to MHR. Or any rescue group you love.
I know you guys will help. There is so much it seems that we cannot affect. Like THE IDIOTS IN wASHINGTON.
In this case, we can kick ass: simple equation: money buys feed, farrier services, vet charges, more round pens (Joe!!) It's lovely: we can see our donations at work.
