Dr. Hadland was here. We had a very good discussion ref: Faith, her possible condition as was stated to us. We discussed EPSM, and what we should establish for her diet right from the start.
He wants her on the Hay we feed, plus 2 scoops of Rice Bran per day and 1 cup of Canola oil per day.
She will not receive her shots until after she foals as he does not want to create any problems. This was his advice.
He also stated that we should be prepared w/ bottles, colostrum and milk replacer in the event that the mare does not make it. Harsh as it may sound, I appreciate his frankness as you never know what could happen.
We have not heard from John yet today.
