Sunday morning

Good Sunday Morning to All,

I must apologize for not writing the last couple of days. I have been a bit under the weather but am doing better today...dang migraine.

My parents are doing better after the loss of Cocoa. We talked about him and I told them that they did a wonderful thing by caring for him and giving him the love and attention he so justly deserved. Cocoa brought a great deal of joy to them, but they now know it was his time and that he will be waiting for them. He is with all the others from MHR that have passed before him.

Apple is drawing closer to her impending birth, but not quite where we want her to be. We want to ensure that you all do not get too bleary eyed awaiting this birth. We are very excited to see what Apple is going to present to us. I of course want another little filly.

Theresa, Joseph and I spent time last night loving all over the "Stinkbug". We were laughing cause we were giving her skritches all over and she was just quivering from the pleasure of it all. Her little teeth are just breaking through the gums, and she was trying to return the grooming to us as well. At one point all three of us had a part of her body and she was twisted like a pretzel. It was too funny to see her twisting about..but wonderful to watch her enjoy the touch of human hands. At one point, Theresa was rubbing her and Jerri came up, sniffed her hand and actually bumped it with her nose. To some this may not mean much, but to us it is monumental, as Jerri is seeing her wee one is getting loved on and nothing is happening. I like to think that she is watching, and hopefully will figure out that this can be a good thing for her as well.

Spirit is growing into a very handsome young horse. Baby B is truly elegant to look at and moves with so much grace. I will make every attempt today to capture photos of your first babies of the ranch...they are doing just wonderfully.

Well, I do hope that each of you has a wonderful day and that something good and special comes your way.

I would also like to thank Mr. Desormeaux, for listening to Big Brown. I know you wanted to give your son the vision of you winning the Triple Crown, but in my humble opinion you gave your son(s) so much more, when you listened to Big Brown, and slowed him down. Your being in tune with Big Brown, makes you a HERO in my book.

Miracle Horse Rescue would like to thank everyone who has participated in our Hay Drive Fundraisers.

June's prizes are wonderful!! Thank you to our donors for their great gifts. We are awaiting the birth now of rescued PMU mare Apple's little big one. Jerri gave birth to Nellie's Hope on May 29th, 2008 and these large mares eat a great deal and their babies will be doing the same in the near future.

For each ticket that is purchased you are making a difference in the lives of the horses at Miracle Horse Rescue and we thank you once again.
