Talking with Rob over coffee this morning, he said that our beloved Jerri will have her baby in the wee hours of the morning between 1am and 3am. He feels though it will not be until this upcoming Monday. I told him no way, no how....he just laughed and said
"NO BABY HORSE FOR YEWWWWWWWWWWWWW"
He said this goes out to all of us...and began laughing. He said did you Ladies not learn anything from Rosie and Misty??? He really thought he was funny...Rob has a tendency to laugh at himself, I am used to it though..so nothing surprises me. He also feels this is going to be a colt. I then told him NO MORE BOYS!!
Today is kind of a somber day as well. Granny Irma is on her way to Germany to her final resting place. Her cremains are being taken over the pond with Rob's sister and our niece. It started out as a group effort by his siblings to go, but unfortunately various things have occurred that have prevented the others of us from going. So Christie and Jen will be representing the family from the U.S. at the family services just outside of Munich. Granny has been staying here at the ranch until this final day.. She was a very special woman in our lives, and her passing made me realize just how important my family and friends are and to not take for them for granted, as we do not know how long they will be with us.
With this said I give each of you this morning!!

LUB YOU ALL!!!!!

Good Morning Fellow Grammies,
I thought for sure we were having a baby last night. As I sit here typing, I am pulling hair from my keyboard, as I was grabbing my hair and pulling at one point....lol...yelling DO IT!!!!! I looked over my shoulder and there is Rob sawing logs...grrrrr...he told me wake me when she goes down for the 10th time, and then he smiled and said "No Baby Horse for Yewwwwwww" Big Grrrrrrr!
I am so excited about here having this baby. I thought I had learned from Misty and Rosie to remain calm, but I went to pacing watching her. I feel very very protective of these girls and I want them to feel comfortable and safe, not having to worry about predators as in their past.
We now close the dog run at night, as to keep the dogs isolated. The dogs do not phase Apple or Jerri, but I do not want them to fear them while giving birth. This worked very well for Misty and Rosie. So same plan was implemented.
Tomorrow our sweet Misty will be 27 and I am sure she will not mind sharing her day with a little one. Well, I best get ready for my day. I hope all of you have a wonderful day, please pray for a safe and healthy foaling.
Lub to All
Stephanie
We are watching her, four times down in a short period of time. She is very uncomfortable tonight. She is over by Apple just standing at the moment. DJ is pacing in his pen which is something he does not do at night, his behavior is very off for him as well...he was talking to Jerri in a very low wuffling noise.
Again, we are watching her.
Stephanie
Morning Everybody,
I hope this finds all well this warm Sunday morning. Another long night, and no baby. Last year when we were waiting for Baby B and Spirit to be born, Rob use to say to me nightly "NO BABY HORSE FOR YEWWWWWW !!!" Then finally with each one before they were foaled he said "BABY HORSE FOR YEWWWW!!!" I wonder if he knows something. I know that he is good with the horses, but he can't be THAT GOOD!!
I will be going out in a bit to feed and water. He has to go to work, so it's just me and the critters. It looks like we may have to attempt rewrapping Jerri's tail, it is inching its way down. We still have a long way to go with Jerri, but we are making strides. We still cannot just walk up on her and snap a lead rope on her, but we will eventually. From my view of looking at her this morning, she appears to be very narrow in the flank area..could be my sleep deprived eyes, just as all of you are.
I wish to express my gratitude to each of you for keeping watch over this very special girl. I would also like to tell you, I am not going to refer to all of you as Aunties, no way, no how.....you have just as much time invested in her as I do....so you are all officially GRAMMIES...I don't want to be the ONLY GRAMMIE.
I took a picture of Abby yesterday with her BoBo (my parents gave it to her), my mom was trying to take her Shelby Bear from her as she has pulled all the stuffing from it and it looks like a limp rag (Auntie Di and Unkle Shannon gave it to her) Diane had to cause Abby kept grabbing Diane's dog, Shelby, by the tail and dragging her across the tile floor. Shelby was not receptive to this playing.
Well, I do need to go for now, but I will give you and update and photos.
Our Misty will be 27 on the 29th, what a grand Lady she is. She is doing wonderfully, I will get some pics of her today.
Will be back in a bit!!!
Stephanie
