Good Morning to All this Thursday!!
I have been up for awhile now, and the sight that I was blessed to see first thing was Hagan and Marigold standing next to each other. It really seems that this friendship at this time is becoming quite solid. Hagan when she first arrived here came with her friend Magnolia (she has since passed). She has had Tubby with her, but since he can be a bit much to take, he would be an irritant to Hagan.
This morning is very peaceful for these two wonderful ladies. I just love when a plan comes together, makes for the start of a good day.
Dr. Adam will be here Monday afternoon (his day off) and he and Rob (he cleared the afternoon) will be working on Destiny. We have itty bitty little proto-type shoes everywhere. They will find what will work for Destiny. I want to let you know, that even though it is Dr. Adams' day off, business is business and we will be having to pay for his time. We also want to make everyone aware, that this effort for Destiny is to make as much of correction as can be for his comfort. Destiny will never be sound, he will never have the perfect looking lower leg/hoof. But, if we can give him comfort and help that is what the goal is. If you have any questions, please refer to the videos that were taken in regards to Destiny and hear what Dr. Adam has to say, please. I will answer what I can. I do plan on videoing the procedure of Monday afternoon.
Well, I must get ready for the day and the day's work ahead. Hopefully, we will not have any Canine Car Crashes (Doggie Demolition Derby) or Hen Tail Feather Goosing...Please.
Have a great day!
Stephanie
First, it was the constant Bruno No!, he was driving the hens nuts today. He was constantly sticking his nose in the hens tail feathers and goosing them which was causing a lot of ruckus and squawking...sigh. Our new step-dog, Moon, was constantly pulling on the water hoses and snapping at the water and then jumping into the water barrels...once again...sigh
Generally I walk the property and go barrel to barrel but today I decided because of the wind to ride the old golf cart. However, I was not alone. Bruno was on the seat with me. He is a seat hog and was wanting to lick and drool as much as he possibly could. Utah was squeezed between us and she was constantly growling at him for more space. The coup de gras' was Adrian, who was sitting on the floorboard of the golf cart. I got out for just a moment, and she was so excited that while trying to adjust her self, her big ole hiney sat on the accelerator, and there goes the golf cart racing towards corrals, chickens flapping and running, and me going after them. They were oblivious to it all and enjoying the ride. I caught up to them before they parked it in with JD and Glory. I was greeted with tail wagging and lots of licks.
Since I was on my last water barrel, I figured I had better take a break from them all before they stepped on my last nerve.. LOL
and So how has your day been???
Stephanie
Good Morning to All!
I wanted to tell everyone of you on ABR and our bloggers: THANK YOU.
Each day that my husband goes off to work, I tell him to be careful and thank you for his support that he gives to Miracle Horse Rescue. He smiles, gives a wink and says we are a TEAM.
Well, I look at all of you as part of our TEAM as well. Your support helps the horses here so much. You are a part of an even bigger team, and that is a team that helps so many more horses that you may not know personally. You make a huge difference in the lives of so many. I know each of you has touched our lives and again THANK YOU.
Our sincerest gratitude for your being you and for what you do when you touches the lives of others.
Pahrump is under wind advisory until 6pm this evening. We will do the regular chores and get them done this morning. It has already started to get a bit breezy and then it generally whips in. Kinda makes for a difficult day if you have projects to do.
The horses here this morning are all feeling good, Silky gave quite a show this morning via cam. Running, bucking and rearing up.
I hope that everyone has a great day, and will post this evening.
Stephanie
Good Tuesday Evening All,
Marigold today got a full body massage and loved it. I touched her everywhere and rubbed the Therma-Flex on all the good spots for her. I really believe in this product, as it sure makes her feel good. As her hair is shedding away, we have found the similar skin condition underneath. I am washing it with anti-bacterial scrub and drying per Dr. Hadland. We are monitoring this very closely. Dr. Hadland said not to be alarmed.
Destiny is doing very well. He is learning manners daily and is very accepting to them for the most part. :) Typical youngster. He is a joy. He is slowly blowing his coat and what I am seeing is a very shiny healthy coat coming in.
All is well here, keeping busy with the typical daily stuff. Big Joe and I this morning dumped, scrubbed, rinsed and filled up all the water barrels.
I helped Rob at one of his clients today as they were not home. We work as a team, as he helps me here and I help him when he needs it out there with his clients horses.
I hope everyone has had a good day and I wish you a wonderful evening.
Stephanie
Please consider purchasing a ticket, because when you do, you give a gift to the horses at Miracle Horse Rescue.
Thank you ever so very much for your continued support in our efforts to provide to the horses.

Good Monday Morning!!
To all who have received the additional snow on the East Coast, please be safe!!!
It was a pretty good weekend here. Marigold had a couple of walkabouts. She likes these walks on her terms though. She wants what she wants. She has certain horses that she enjoys visiting with so of course we are here to ensure that she is accommodated. She is doing well. I look at her every day and I so wish that she could tell us what her life was all about, but we do know it has not been easy. However, over the last couple of weeks we have seen a marked improvement in her attitude. She does have arthritis but with the use of the Therma-Flex, her receiving feed through joint supplement and the occasional gram of bute, she seems so much more comfortable. She basks in the sunshine, but as soon as it is time to eat, or time to get carrots she is right there.
Destiny had about an hour out yesterday, and he really enjoyed it. He played with the cone and the ball for a bit. He was groomed and he is beginning to blow his coat as many are beginning to do here. It was a good day for Destiny.
Misty had a day out in the Sigma Delta Hoof turn-out. She enjoyed it. Dublin and Misty sort of hooked up for the afternoon and wandered together. She was put back in her stall for her evening feeding. She and Dublin did call out to each other but once their dinner was served...silence. All was well once again in their world.
One of the big events for the weekend was Glory, a four yr old, who was rescued at auction in 06 as a yearling. She had a rider on her back for the first time. She had been saddled many times before, but never had she had someone step up. She has always been perfect during saddling, and she proved to be even better with a rider. Of course she does not know anything, but is very willing to learn. Glory is available for adoption. She has come so far in her time with us. She was a wild child when she first arrived, you could not do her feet, she did not know how to be tied and there was a serious lack of respect and manners with humans. Now she is very receptive to everything and loves people and other horses. She has a great personality!
Whiskey of course was humorous, but it is obvious he did not care for the smell of Gold Fish crackers and displayed his displeasure with its odor.
The highlight though was the wonderful visit we had with Paul and Karen from ND. It is nice to see people that began as cyberfriends turn into face to face friends. We truly enjoyed their visit, we always wish it were longer, but they had to head back to their end of the world. As Paul put it, they are not at the end of the earth but you can see it!
I do wish everyone well this day and the week. Be safe all!
Stephanie
