THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH FOR ALL OF THE SUPPORT AND HAY YOU HAVE GENEROUSLY GIVEN TO THE HORSES. BLESS YOU ALL!
Mom is home from the hospital but is still feeling puny. I sure wish she would get well soon, I miss MY mom, the woman I look up to, who gives me strength daily. I want her well for my father who I know is worried but is holding steadfast. I want her well for her grandchildren and great grandchildren who all love going to GGma's house. Mom just get well soon. We spent the evening there, took her some homemade chicken soup she ate some and she said she is eating little meals throughout the day. I asked her if she wanted jello, but she told me the hospital jello has ruined it for her. Get well mom. Prayers from many are there for you.
Today, Rob and I erected the Pole Hay Barn and set the posts in concrete. Tomorrow if there is no wind we will be able to put the roofing on. All this wonderful hay donated by each of you will have a nice cozy home until it is fed to the beautiful majestic horses at our facility. Though at this time we are unable to take on any new horses at our facility due to the economy, the horses at Miracle Horse Rescue & Sanctuary will be eating well. Thank you ever so much.
Hay is very high here..they are selling hay @ 16 bales per ton x $17.00 per bale = 272.00 per ton. So your generosity is overwhelming and so appreciated, we will never be able to express our gratitude, but what we can do is continue to give the care and love each horse needs daily.
It has been a very long day, and for now I wish all a good night. I will be answering emails in the morning. Thank you so much. Additionally, we would like to welcome you to watch our live cam stream on Justin.tv. Please make a request after you sign up on Justin as we would love to have you join all of us in chat. I generally am able to get on early in the mornings and sometimes in the evenings, but all on chat are friendly and we have fun conversations. Welcome to all newcomers. We are happy you have joined us.

Hay Challenge for the week of September 11
This challenge was posted yesterday, Sunday, September 11, and much to our delight, it was met on the same day! Thank so much everyone.
So...our good friend Lisa has sweetened the pot with the following post:
She also says, There is nothing more important than HAY: LET'S CONTINUE THE CHALLENGE.
As some of you may know, I am from New Orleans, where we have this wonderful concept of "Lagniappe": It means "a little something extra". (As a kid, it was the extra donut that Long's Bakery gave you when you bought a dozen!!!) Well, here is the lagniappe for this weeks hay challenge.
I filled up my hay shed for the winter this week. My neighbor cuts nearby and makes sure I am taken care of. I expected to pay several dollars more per bale, but John (my neighbor) doesn't care about droughts in Texas or in Colorado or rising hay prices. He cares that my horses have hay and I never have to worry - I got hay at the same price I get it every year. I am embarrassed at what i paid and I want to pay it forward to MHR and share in my good fortune.
Lagniappe: for every half bale paid for this week from the time of this post through 11:59 pm next Saturday, September 17 (Do i sound like a lawyer or what!!!) , i will match it with a full bale of hay.
BRING ON THE HAY!!! Please help fill MHR's shed!!! Let's give MHR some hay lagniappe!!!
Lisa
In honor of Jerri, Apple, and Nellie, and in thanks for every day of joy the kids give to me.Thank you all, and most especially thank you, Lisa in Colorado, for this wonderful offer.

September 7, 2011 - pics from yesterday
We have been busy around here as usual but managed to get some pics taken of the horses. Diane and Shannon have been here since last Friday, so we have had a nice visit. Electra is doing well. In fact all are well.
Annie's rear is facing us, Bright in the background and General to the right.
Honey in the background and to the right is LB sticking his head into her stall.
JD and Grace standing in the forefront, and Rosie in the far back in the football field
Morning Glory Manor: Charity in forefront and CB in background.
Ladies Parlour should be called Mens Parlour as Jerri is only mare in there, rest are geldings.
We hope that everyone had a great weekend and we wish you all a wonderful week. If you are able, we hope you can participate in the MHR&S Back to School Event.

One of our supporters, LindaS, is running a hay challenge...she will buy 5 bales of hay if our supporters will match that. Only two more bales are needed! More than one person can split the cost of a bale. Teamwork is good for the horses.
PRICE REDUCTION on hay. The cost has gone down to $17/bale at Animal House in Pahrump ($8.50 for half a bale). Purchases can be made by calling Animal House at 775-751-1777 or, for one click shopping, use this link to the MHR&S website .
As always, thank you for your support.
