Though you are no longer here with us in body, you will be forever here in spirit.
I remember when I first met you in March of 2001, not long after the gates opened for MHR. I was truly taken by you and Ace, your companion who joined you at MHR. I knew you were going blind, and I, being new to a blind horse, had to learn to help you cope with the changes occurring daily for you. I knew when you were frightened, and knew that having a buddy would be comforting to you.
We grew together, we learned together. When Ace crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 12/12/02, we comforted one another. We continued to bond. We tried to partner you up with so many different horses, but the connection was not there.......
Along came General, who suffered abuse and was totally blind due to this abuse. You both hit it off with one another. The missing piece of the puzzle. There was a true bond with you both. You found comfort in his companionship, giving us joy in watching you both.
You were an amazing horse Shiloh, your blindness never stopped you. You learned to trust me as you learned to lunge by voice commands. You were truly a treasure.
You are whole now...never to suffer again. You are forever in our hearts my dear friend....so many were lucky to meet you girl and they to loved you.
Your spirit will live on here Shiloh. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to care and love you these last eight years.
