Good Tuesday Morning!
Justice is one week and one day old. He is so full of curiosity. He is much more independent than the other foals we have had born here. This photo is when he was less than 24 hours old. Such a cutie....
The next shot is a full one day old.....
if you look at the hair on his back and rump you will see that it is wavy, which now is smoothing out
Here he is...his third day of life
Here is at five days old with grammie Linda and getting to know that humans give nice scratches, where he can't reach.
and here he is at seven days old... they grow so quickly! He is beginning to start to nibble on the rice bran and the crumblies of the hay cubes. Soon he will be eating this as well as nursing on mom. So remember the June Hay Ride, with the one and only photo we have of Barbaro and the Kitty signed by Barbara Livingston. Everything is back to normal at the ranch, and everyone else is doing great. General is doing fine, and so is Silky. They have adjusted to the loss of Shiloh aka Shy Girl. Marigold was patiently awaiting her breakfast this morning along with Hagan and Destiny was hollering as usual for his. B and Spirit were busy doing their ball laundry this morning, washing and tossing in the dirt and washing some more, so of course the water barrel had to be cleaned. I guess they have to ensure that everything is squeaky clean.
Rob has begun integrating the lead rope in the feeding process with Jerri and Apple. Since Jerri is so skittish, he is working the lead rope around her so she can see that it wil not hurt her. The goal is to be able to snap it on her without her attempting to get away. Once that is done he will begin with leading her, in her own environment. As he stated this morning, if it takes one day or one month it's okay, as she will know it is not a bad thing.

While we were all away for a while at the feed store, Spirit managed to let Sophie out of her pen and into the play area with him and B. Rob is putting in stronger reinforcement but I have a feeling Spirit is snickering behind his back -
